This is going to be a nice little utility for me and my team-mates. We often have long folder trees and file names that we work with, and being able to copy the path and paste it in emails will be a godsend. We can't always send large email attachments and this will allow us just to send the link to the file. Also our webmail attachment browsing method is horrendous. Being able to paste the path directly into the dialog lets us avoid all the clicks to browse to the file in order to attach. Beautiful!

This is such a cool utility. I found out that xmind needs the path to a linked file and it was a pain to do this. So I googled for something like "copy path to clip board" and the second find was this utility that did exactly what I needed. Now creating links in xmind has become a lot less painful, until, hopefully, the xmind people will implement creating a link by dropping a file on a node while holding down ctrl - but still - thank you so much for 'Copy Path to Clipboard' - and it even worked on win7 without a problem.

Copy Path to Clipboard

I honestly don't know how I've missed this utility. I can't imagine not having it in my toolbox. No support person in any IT role should be without it. A "real" time saver. Thanks be to those who wrote and distrubute Copy Path to Clipboard.

Works great!

Microsoft had this feature in Win 2000. My new machine has XP-Pro and I really miss it. Thanks for bringing back an old friend.

Sparse but highly functional

The Windows app icon is missing for ClipBoardPath.exe, and the instructions on how to add it to the startup group could confuse a relatively novice user. But this utility works exactly as advertised and my thanks goes to the developer for sharing his work.

Good all round

I swear by the Mac OS, but had to install this for a client. Apart from the initially confusing installer it all went smoothly, and it simply does what it says on the tin – it copies the path to a file to the clipboard.

excellent tool!

I use this whenever I want to send the entire path AND file name to someone. It's so easy, all you have to do is right click on the file name, select Copy Path to Clipboard, and paste into a document or email or wherever, saving several clicks to do the same thing manually.
